1/6 PAINTED Relievo Ambrotype 1860s Soldier in Uniform Royal Engineer Volunteer sewing published in Philadelphia in 1848Sixth plate, 1860s "relievo" ambrotype of a soldier in uniform, holding his gloves. The original photographer painted the back of the image so that the color would show through to the front.
